When I broke it down into 1 raw goal…
Jun 18, 2021
Starting an idea can be a simple goal in its rawest form. Sell 1 item. Rank number 1 in Google for 1 key search term.
The latter was my first goal I set out to achieve for Credit Card Finder back in 2006. For me, proving a goal can be reached is a proof of concept. It tells me that this idea can work. But once this happens the real work starts.
After your first test is a success, then you need to think about how you can add value to your customers. It becomes more than just a simple goal. This is how I think about developing a business idea. It’s about building something special, a little different, and focused on the customer.
I spoke about this and other cool consumer trends on the Fear and Greed Podcast with Sean Aylmer (this title is so good!).
One major trend that's happening is fintechs filling a void in financial advice. Fintechs (like the Finder app) crunch your data and provide you insights to give you a set of really good decision options and outcomes in your life.
I also spoke to Sean about my new book, Go Live! 10 Principles to Launch a Global Empire launching on August 10.
“Go Live” is the third value of Finder. It’s really about inspiring people to launch and get things done in their life. It’s the eternal principles that I use in order to drive the outcomes of launching things. It’s the first time I’ve put down on some paper all the stories and lessons I’ve learned, the good times, the hard times.
These are the 10 principles that will help you Go Live and launch something. No matter where you’re at with your business idea – if you own a company, you’ve started one before, you want to start one or you have an idea inside your organisation – this book will get you in the right mindset to Go Live!

What do you think of this debate?
This week I had the privilege of joining AMP Capital’s Chief Economist Shane Oliver on ABC News The Business with Kathryn Robinson. It got pretty heated in that studio! 🔥
We talked about bitcoin’s place in financial markets and the future of cryptocurrency.
