THREE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD INVEST IN YOUR BRANDFeb 07, 2022
Your personal brand is powerful. It can do so much for your business and anything you’re associated with in the future.
I recently sat down with Pippa Chambers, Editor of The Growth Agenda at The Australian. Pippa asked me about my journey over the past couple of years of building my personal brand and why it was a very important project for me.
This won’t be right for everyone. You might not be interested in building your brand or your brand might not be the right fit for your business. It needs to be genuine and that’s why it’s OK to not go down this path.
But for most of you, I believe brand building is an important part of your business journey. Here are three reasons why:
1. It can make your business more personal
Putting a face and a personality with a business makes it personal, it helps people connect and gives it an edge. That’s a differentiator that not all companies have.
This can make your business more engaging, relatable, and your customers will become loyal.
2. It can provide new revenue streams
Over the past 20+ years that I’ve been in business, so much has changed but there has been one key constant: audience is king.
The bigger your audience, the more opportunities will come and with that also comes new opportunities such as book deals, speaking engagements, and collaborations with other brands that want to leverage your following.
It becomes a cycle of content that promotes your brand and brings on more followers and more opportunities.
3. It can give you purpose
You really can’t try and manufacture your brand, it has to come out authentically. So think about what your brand stands for and how you can help others learn from what you know. This is always a good place to start.
When you do this, it can give you a purpose, a platform to give back and help people.
